“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:23-25, NLT)
Fellowship among Christians is essential in order to provide the necessary encouragement and support we need to survive in a lonely and discouraging world. In addition to the worship and educational ministries which also provide fellowship, there are special fellowship opportunities within the church. We meet regularly on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings (during the school year) for food, fun, fellowship, learning and serving.
Coffee @ 9:30 am
Sunday School @ 10 am
Worship @ 11 am
Church Dinner @ 5:45 pm
Classes & Missions @ 6:30 pm
Each Sunday morning, everyone is invited to gather in the Fellowship Hall, between 9:30 and 9:55 a.m., for coffee & juice and a light continental breakfast (pastries, fruit, etc.). This is a great time to relax and get caught up with your friends or to make new friends! If your family is rushed on Sunday mornings, you don’t have to worry about eating breakfast before coming to church! [top]
Each Wednesday, a supper is served in the Fellowship Hall, Sept – May, from 5:45 – 6:30 p.m. This is another great time to get together with your church family for fellowship. It also makes it much easier for individuals and families to take part in all the other Wednesday Night Life activities! No reservations needed. The suggested donation to cover the cost of the food is $5 per person, (maximum of $20 a family). When you visit our church for the first time, you should receive a mug full of info and goodies, including a coupon to try out a Wednesday Supper for free. From 6:30 – 7:30 pm on Wednesdays, adults and youth gather for Bible Study, family activities, or service projects for missions and outreach. See the newsletter for the latest. [top]
The women of the congregation plan occasional events each year to promote both fellowship and discipleship. They also join in Women’s Circles and other groups for Bible Study and fun!
Saltshakers Bible Study – Women are invited to gather on Monday evenings at 6:30 between September and May (with occasional breaks) for an interdenominational Bible study. This ministry began with 8 women meeting together and over the years has grown into a satellite ministry that serves over 500 women in the Raleigh and surrounding areas. Facilitators will lead the lesson each week in a small group setting with lecture speaker, Sarah Knott, coming to us by satellite. Registration is necessary each year so that materials may be provided – contact the church office or Judy D. Goodnight for more information. Women of all ages are invited to attend!
The Circle of Women at 2:00pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month for Bible Study and fellowship. Please watch the bulletin for meeting locations.
Otherwise known as the “Bad Girls”, the Thursday morning women’s Bible Study meets weekly at 10:30am at the church. All women are welcome to join them as they study a range of topics, including those especially related to women.
The Sunday Women’s Circle meets monthly on Sunday afternoons for devotions or simply dinner and fellowship. Designed to be informal, meeting dates and locations may change monthly based on the schedules of our members. Watch the bulletin for information each month and join us![top]
The JOY Group (Just Older Youth) is a fellowship of senior citizens and retirees in our church. The club meets for occasional covered dish lunches–enjoying good food, good fellowship, and good programs. On other months, the group goes out to eat or takes a day trip to interesting places in the region. [top]
